My doctor prescribed me a very low dose of opipramol to help me sleep. He told me to only take 25 mg but that had zero effect so I took more because I was desperate. I need to take 100 mg for it to do something. When I feel really bad I take 150 or 200 mg mixed with alcohol which knocks me out. Only downside is that I have trouble waking up the next morning. I know I shouldn't experiment but I don't think the doctor really took me seriously and the leaflet actually says to take 150-300 mg a day so I should be ok, right? I read that mixing it with alcohol can cause drowsiness but that doesn't bother me so it shouldn't be an issue, right?

You should ask your doctor or a pharmacist.
