I’ve been questioned about it by 3 different people at 3 different places. The ER told me I should maybe try klonpin because Valium seemed really strong. My therapist asked me why I was taking the Valium and didn’t ask what any of my other meds were for. Then today at the doctors the nurse specifically asked how often I take it.

What is the big deal? People never made this big of a deal out of the Xanax I was on for 2.5 years.

I've come across this as well taking Klonopin. I think there's a general nervousness among doctors about benzos since they're controlled substances. I wouldn't worry about it too much - is your main prescriber okay with you taking it / are they still prescribing it?

Yeah he’s been completely fine with benzos. I was on Ativan, Xanax and now Valium since working with him for almost 3 years. He’s a bit too much comfortable with them in my opinion.

I only encountered this when I moved. Before I moved no one questioned the benzos at all. I even told my therapist at my last place that all I had was my bottle of Xanax to help me deal with things and she said nothing about that. And she was allowed to talk to my doctor with out without my permission.

It's the most effective but also longest lasting benzo so tolerance builds easier.. If it's PRN, it's no problem. I get a good muscle relaxation from 2.5mg that other benzos don't do. Good for sleep but not sustainable long term.

I was on muscle relaxers for pain last month. But man did those work well for my anxiety. Especially in addition to the Valium. Which the ER doctor who prescribed them said was an ok combination if I spread them apart. But I couldn’t get another refill on them when I saw my surgeon. He just told me to use Advil for pain. Well I wasn’t really using them for pain and I couldn’t tell him that. I took my last one last Friday I think.

I have an anti vertigo med that can make me feel really relaxed but it also makes me hungry.

Yes diazepam is a big deal. Do your home work. This topic is so black in it's wrong thought process that : People do not realize how it can become very addictive and tolerance level
I do not know how serious you are about this group of meds, Benzodiazepines, but within two weeks if on a medium dose There can be issues
Anyway good luck
Also to answer your original question - Yes Valium is a big deal. Do your research and talk to your pdoc and/or health care pros If you have any?
Here's a toss off link . Look into pubmed and a lot of anecdotal stories They often will show you .
List of Benzodiazepines: Types, Side Effects, Addiction & Withdrawal
