This is really stupid, I know. My doctor (former doc, actually) didn't like the idea.
When I was on medication I would go through withdrawl deliberately. I was concerned whether I could handle it, so I'd experiment. It was terrible.

is doing this a really stupid thing to do?

I thought, maybe, something good would come out of it.

Gee, my question here to you is why put yourself through the hell if not necessary? Tapering off a med like a doc would have you do would seem more logical with possible more positive results.
I guess some of us have to try things for ourselves to try to prove something to ourselves in effort to be independent of docs/pdocs, but for one minute we need to step back and say "why am I doing this to myself"?
It is your personal business of what you choose and how, but I think you would be better off withdrawing with the supervision of the doc who prescribed the meds to you.
Just my 2 cents.
Lots of luck with this all,

I make things hard for myself. I don't know why. I beat up on myself. I experiment on my mind.

It might not just be crazy, but in some cases possibly even dangerous to do. There can be nasty consequences in some cases when drugs should be tapered off. It's best to leave going off medication up to the prescribing doctor.

Oh fried, don't do this to yourself. You really need to believe that you need and deserve love and respect. Don't torture yourself. It would be good if you could develop a trusting relationship with a doc to help you through this.

Nah, not stupid, perhaps curious, that is okay in some things, that is how we learn things often, but please do not mess with your meds.
