For 17 years now struggling with multiple severe issues and cannot find the proper treatment. I am 48 now and completely hopeless than ever before especially with my life being totally empty, boring, alone. Now I reached out to psychiatrists and waiting to hear back and am terrified to go back on psych meds but I feel there is no other option now. I just hate all the serious side effects I get from them and they hardly help at all. Just really afraid of taking them and worried that they will not help either.
And it is extremely difficult also to find a good psychiatrist!! I wish there was a safer, more effective alternative to Klonopin too. I hardly take it but seems to be the only thing that calms me down a bit. I also lay in my bed paralyzed in fear and hopelessness and cannot get myself to do even the littlest things that I know will help. 😔 |

I hear you on the doubts about psych meds. I take several meds daily and I still worry about their side effects. The way I stay on mine is just to think of the pros and cons. Perhaps a list of pros and cons would be helpful for you to make about the psych meds and their potential benefits versus their potential negative effects. I also hear you when you say it is extremely difficult to find a good psychiatrist. Sometimes having an empathetic psychiatrist can make all the difference in the world. As for the Klonopin, I am no doctor, but I take Klonopin. Anyway, it seems to help me. I hope you can find something that works for you. As for laying in bed paralyzed with fear and hopelesness, have you thought about like what is the smallest thing you can do to help yourself on any given day? Sometimes that helps when I'm super depressed. If you just come up with literally one thing, sometimes it helps. Like for example, getting out of bed for one minute to brush your teeth or something like that. I know it might sound kind of silly, but that has helped me in the past. __________________ "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!” |

I can definitely identify with you since I am experiencing many of the things you describe. People who do not bear these kinds of crushing burdens will never understand how much heroism it takes. So sorry you are so heavily burdened! Wish I knew what to say that would help. I want to thank you for your post. It helps me to feel less isolated and alone with my own struggles. Sorry that I don't know how to be helpful to you in return.
