Drug Interaction Checker - Find Interactions Between Medications

I was recently looking into new treatments for CPTSD and checked it against my current meds only to discover that two of my current meds, Viibryd and Buspar together can cause serotonin syndrome.

None of the doctors at the psych hospital, my new prescribing nurse, my old psychiatrist who originally prescribed them, or any of the pharmacists who filled those prescriptions knew it.
Like it or not, we have to take responsibility for our own care and don't rely on the professionals to know everything.
Deeply scary stuff!

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST HERE ANY INTERACTIONS YOU ARE AWARE OF AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE!!

I take two meds, Remeron and Effexor, that can cause serotonin syndrome as well. It hasn't been a problem for me, luckily. My doctors over the years have made the decision that the benefit is worth taking the risk.

I would worry about the opiates they gave me after my surgeries and the benzos I'd be prescribed 3 times a day. But neither the doctor or the pharamacy ever said anything and I never had any issue. It did make me super nervous though so I tried to use the opiates as little as possible. I remember after a procedure an ER doctor wanted to prescribe me tramadol but my mom told him no. I didn't even need tylenol after that one. Pain meds scare me though because of possible interactions.

I'm hijacking my own thread here...

And it's not okay to call you by your deadname anymore, either.

Back on topic...

Because of bizarre behavior in the past year we decided I would go off of Buspar immediately and wean off of Viibryd. Then use my genesight results to determine what antidepressant to try. Then go back to taking Buspar again.

My bad. You said feel free to post any drug interactions. So I was just responding to that part of your post.

Sorry to interject, but I think werewoman was saying that you shouldn't be okay with anyone calling you by your deadname. I agree. I wouldn't want to be called by the wrong name. You shouldn't, either.

Update: I think we may have a winning combination.

500 mg Depakote x2 daily

20 mg Latuda x1 daily

.5 mg Klonopin x2 daily

The 20 mg Latuda is the starter dosage
