My current not very experienced medication provider told me that I should feel mood improvement and more stable after seven pills of lithium, each one 300mg. So, about 4 days.
I need to know if his assertion is realistic? I need the experiences of others who have been on lithium. How soon did you feel the effects (good or bad)? What dose did you start at, and how far up did you go (if lithium worked for you)? I need this info as soon as possible. Thank you in advance __________________ |

I kinda already said this in the bipolar check in but I'll post some more info here too. I don't think it's realistic. I started at 600mg/day split up 300am and 300pm and that did nothing so after a week they added another 300mg and then after a week my mania was brought down to a hypomania. After another week they raised it to 1200mg and then that's when I was finally stable.
I do wish that they had lowered the dose after I was stable awhile to 900mg though because 1200mg had some GI upsets after about a month of being on that dose. __________________ [Insert thought-provoking and comedic quote here] |

Thanks, Boots. I don't think it's realistic, either, I think it's ridiculous to say that lithium would stabilize someone after only 7 pills at 300mg each. I need to hear direct experience, not some BS an inexperienced PA reads off his phone. And I'll watch out for GI upset, for sure. __________________ |
