Is anyone on imitramine for anything?
My doc prescribed it to help my muscles relax and my digestive system calm down and run normally. It's helped those two things, but doesn't do anything much to help me sleep or calm my anxiety.

I've heard of it but have no experience with it.
Have you ever took Ativan? It's great for calming and anxiety, even if you get tightness in your chest like I do sometimes from big anxieties. Ask your doc if you can try it, it works great, even gets you so relaxed you get drowsy, but a nice drowsy ![]() Hope this gave you some insight ![]() Take care now, "darkeyes"

Thanks Darkeyes. My doc told me imipramene is an old fashioned anti depressant, but works on relaxing muscles. I have a hard time asking the doc about specific drugs. I feel like I am telling him what to do. I have all these questions and suggestions for him all bottled up inside. For instance, I really want to try a different anti depressant... like celexa. I am afraid to mention the name to him though for fear he will think I am usurping his professional training. I guess I just need to buckle down and ask and duck... LOL!

Hey Willow, I have the same problem with asking the doc about specific drugs. I really had to fight to be prescribed some temazepam (Restoril?). Hopefully your doc won't throw too many eggs at you!
Darkeyes, are ativan and Restoril the same class of drugs? It is good to see you two posting. Take good care, Fuzzy

Fuzzy,
On the bottle of Ativan it says lorazapam (spelling) and I know it is the benzoadipine family (spelling) but I am not sure, but it helps a lot. It is in the "contolled substance" category Willow and Fuzzy try to not feel afraid about asking to try a new med or ask questions, most good docs do not mind at all the questions and/or the willingness on the clients part to try a new med (makes their job easier, ha!ha!) BTW Celexa is great for mild - major depression, 20 mgs for mild to moderate, 40mg for resistant depression, increases chances at 40mg to get the occasional jerks, like when your reflexes are checked at your knee with the doctor's little hammer type instrument. It is not too bad for some, but again everyone is affected differently. Girls, don't be afraid, I know at first you may be, I use to be like that, my mom still is and I lose patience and tell her she needs to ask questions, even write them down before you go, cause we get side tracked and forget. Me too ![]() Lots of love and luck ![]() Take care, "darkeyes"
