I am thinking about asking my psych doc about adding Rexulti 1mg to my medication regimen. I have been taking 30mg Escitalopram and 30mg Olanzapine, but I still feel out of touch with reality. Seeing how Rexulti is also an antipsychotic, maybe it would help.

If you feel depressed, it's likely a good candidate, because it is a similar chemical makeup to Abilify (aripiprazole) which is approved by the FDA as an adjunct to antidepressant medications. I have never taken Rexulti, but I took Abilify (aripiprazole) for years and I always remember it having a good effect on my depression. Your other options are to look into medications like Latuda (lurasidone) (full disclosure, I am taking this right now and it is helping a lot), risperidone (which is similar to lurasidone but it doesn't have the mood-boosting effects theoretically as lurasidone), ziprasidone, etc. There are a ton of antipsychotics out there and it seems like yours isn't working at least to the fullest extent you want it to work. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about replacing the olanzapine with something else? Just a thought. Hope you feel better.

Hope you feel better soon. I took Rexulti as an adjunct. It did help a lot. But, I did gain a ton of weight on it which I haven't been able to lose. I know take Olanzapine (kind of the same problem but I am not gaining weight just sometimes I eat too much with it) but it did work wonders for my depression so I kinda dealt with the excess weight. Now I take Olanzapine and Latuda, Trintellix and Duloxotine. And Vyvanse.
