I have been on a small amount of Ativan for 30 years. .5mg. Mostly for sleep and not every day.
For this entire time I have gotten the drug from CVS. And I recently - last 10 years or so I thought it was losing its effectiveness. So CVS recently told me they were out of the drug and I got it filled at Walgreens. Guess what? It seems far more effective!! I take it and fall asleep rapidly and stay asleep. In addition my BP has gone up over the years... but when I take this... my bp is very low all night long. 110/70. Seemingly making it harder to raise during the day. Has anyone noticed a change in the effectiveness of the medication with a change in pharmacy? |

@NatalieJastrow that is very strange unless other factors are at play. For example my friend with bipolar takes that when depressed and they feel sleepy but when experiencing mania they feel relaxed. How are you feeling overall, has your mood improved? Could that be a factor?
Also check with the bottle and make sure it is .5 MG and if it says that double check with pharmacy that it is actually .5MG and not 1MG. Both are fairly small pills. @CANDC __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

It should not matter and in fact it’s scary if potency changes from pharmacy to pharmacy. I’d speak to a pharmacist and my doctor to see what’s going on

Im not fond of CVS even tho they did give me my covid shots. For me, the lines are interminable and they cost too much.

There is no doubt about it... the pill is stronger. I was shocked to get a 104/70 reading a few times the morning after taking one. It is a different looking pill. The CVS pill has like a line on one side - this doesn't. But I have confirmed via photos on the internet that it is Ativan. Just can't tell the dose.
