Just a curious question. I have been dealing with alot of symptoms really since June, like swollen lymph nodes, extreme fatigue, achey things of that sort. I got some results back from an ANA and a CRP test and they were both elevated. My doctor says it is either rheumatoid or autoimmune like lupus. I looked up lupus and they said that it could be the effects of medication. Which mine wouldn't surprise me. I take 21 pills a day plus inhaler and I'm on 21 so that's not a good sign. But I take the following psychotropic meds.
abilify ambien trilipital risperdal provigil lexapro effexor luvox I think that's all of them, but who knows, there may be more, I don't know all of my meds. |

you sound like my mom. you would probably have both. rhuematoid arthritis is the kind that attacks your immune system so they go hand in hand. its one of those things where many factors play into the disease. you might have some genetic factors that alone aren't enough to cause it, but when you combine that and drugs it could do it. just like high blood pressure, its usually a combo of both environmental and genetic factors. also, lupus is more likely to occure in women rather than men.

Thanks for the info, it was very helpful. It just all really scares me because I am only 21 and it's just all very confusing to me, as life is all very confusing as well.

don't be scared. most people who are diagnosed are diagnosed between ages 20 and 45. my old manager was in his early 30s and had to have rheumatoid shots. just as with any disease, the quicker you catch it, the easier it is to manage. hopefully you caught it in time to get it under control and maybe only have to take a pill or get a shot every month.

Hi,
I was diagnosed with lupus when I was 35. It is pretty scarey when you start researching all the information available on the internet. I took Prednisone (steroid) for 18 months to help my immune system, and take Plaquenil on a daily basis. I have Celebrex to take when/if my joints are especially achey, but generally rely on ibuprofen. There are many things that can cause lupus to manifest. I've decided to NOT look into that anymore for my emotional well-being. For now, I try very hard to stay out off the sun 100% to avoid the rash flare-ups. If I am in the sun, I slather sunscreen everywhere. Wishing you luck!! Dee __________________ Parce que maman l'a dit |
