Anyone ever had an elevated heart rate due to Zoloft?

this is more relevant to your post re. dieting in the general forum but this post reminded me... do you think any meds you are on may have contributed to your weight gain (as a side affect)?

maybe my depo-provera? But not a significant amound of weight gain. Most of my weight gain was going from an active job position to a very inactive position.

I've been on Zoloft for about 10 years. My normal heart rate is a bit higher than average, but I have never noticed it increasing due to the Zoloft.

I have never taken Zoloft so I can't answer that question directly. In addition to the Zoloft, you may want to consider other possibilites for an increased heart rate. For example, do you deal with anxiety issues or panic? Have you recently started the Zoloft? Are there any other medications you take? Just some things to think about. When you start to experience a new symptom or side effect it is helpful to look at everything involved and not narrow in on one aspect.

I have been on the Zoloft for 7 weeks now. I am on Zoloft for my anxiety. The only other med I take is Synthroid.

Okay well my higher heartrate must have been the anxiety, because now that the anxiety has chilled out more, so has my heart-rate.

I took zoloft for several years and when the generic came out and I switched, I started feeling dizzy and light headed. I came off for a while, but am now trying it again, but having to pay extra for the real thing.
