My doctor wants me to go off my prestiq. Be totally off 100mil in 6 weeks. How hard will this be?

He also wants me to stop my 200mil Lamictal cold turkey

Hes trying to get me on Wellbutrin instead and says I need to come off some other meds before I can go on it. I said I'd try anything but my Geodon.

Does anyone have any insight or suggestiom?

I remember a guy from another site who would get real testy when he didn't take his Lamictal. I looked it up and the view is that you can quit cold turkey though. How long have you been on prestiq? I think it's harder the longer you have been on something. I was only on paxil for a couple of months and quitting was miserable.

I've been on Prestiq for about 1.5 years. So far I just feel flu like and foggy. Nothing else thats a huge deal. I took 150 instead of 200 mil of lamical last night. I've been on that for almost 10 years.

Is your doctor an idiot?! Coming off Pristiq over 6 weeks isn't out of the question, but it could be difficult. However, stopping Lamictal at 200 mg COLD TURKEY is a horrible idea, especially if they want you to get on Wellbutrin. Stopping Lamictal cold turkey can cause you to have withdrawal seizures, and starting Wellbutrin can cause you to have an increased risk of seizures.

I would be vehemently opposed those two changes in particular.
