My doctor prescribed me wellbutrin a few weeks ago and the first week I felt great. The second week I got such bad anxiety I went off it. It was like the heebie jeebies kinda anxiety. Now I am super depressed and semi S So I'm wondering if I should just suck up the anxIety and deal with it.

I'm throwing up from something and my stomach gets messed up a lot from health stuff. So its not just mental health stuff I'm dealing with. I have a message into my medical doctor.

My pdoc won't talk with me until my appointment in April. I just had the spooks and was frustrated mainly on Wellbutrin. I wasn't this depressed and I wasn't S either.

Is it worth just going back on it?

I take Wellbutrin, as well as 2 other antidepressants. My Dx is severe major depression with psychotic features. I still have anxiety in spite of the antidepressants, though it's not the agitated anxiety that I felt when I was psychotic. I also take Abilify and PRN Ativan.

Is this the first antidepressant that you're taking? I mean, are you on any others at this time?

For me, I stick to the doctor's advice on taking meds.

It's a pity that you can't reach your pdoc before April.

Would you rather be depressed or anxious? Until you talk to your pdoc, that’s your option. It’s really down to personal preferences

Idk really because either one gets me super angry and pissed at people. Depression is more dangerous in my opinion. At least with anxiety I have a bunch of valium and stuff and its somewhat more manageable.

From Drugs.com:

"Wellbutrin XL is an extended release tablet which releases more slowly than the Wellbutrin SR tablet which is released faster. Another difference is that Wellbutrin SR is only used for major depressive disorder (MDD), whereas Wellbutrin XL can be used for both MDD and seasonal affective disorder (SAD)."

Maybe it you try XL, it will be gentler on your system thanks to slow continuous release and you will be spared spikes of anxiety. But this will require first seeing your psychiatrist.

Oh then i would want to ascertain dewed had been taking it correctly. You never want to chew an XL med. A friend of mine did - she had been my boss actually, so not without intellectual resources - but this one got past her, and she did not have a good reactiion to the med.

It works fine now with 75mil of Lamictal. And if I take it in the afternoon instead of in the morning. I just have to figure out how to get my doctor to put me back on lamictal since I put myself back on it.
