I have been experiencing a range of strange symptoms after going off zyprexa. Has anyone else lived through zyprexa withdrawal who could help me out with some advice?

Basically, I took it for 10 days, went off cold turkey, and got terrible insomnia and headache. I went back on it for a few days to get stable. Went off again after those few days, and a couple of weeks later, all h**l broke loose. I started feeling weird in my head...almost a depersonalization/derealization feeling. My emotions were blunted. I got song snippets stuck in my head.

I went back on the zyprexa to taper off more slowly. 2 months later, I am only now starting to feel a little more normal. I am stuck at 5mg because when I try to go off altogether, I start vomiting.

Thanks for any advice from those of you who may have been there.

Hi ...I was on zyprexa for about 1 1/2 yrs. I weaned myself off (about 2 weeks) with no problem....unfortunately...I still needed it so I was on something else 6 months later. good luck

My husband went off Zyprexa about two years ago, but I can ask him if he remembers. He was immediately changed to a new drug though. On the bright side, he lost a lot of weight after getting off it.
