I've only been on Zoloft for about a week, and I'm already feeling better....but I'm wondering. Is it really working? It seems too early, and I'm on a low dose to start off.

Maybe my life has just settled down enough that I'm not so stressed.

When I was on meds 2 years ago, they never did seem to do anything. I guess I'm just skeptical still.

How do I know if it's really working - or if I just *think* I'm feeling better?

Zoloft worked for me after about a week and I was asking myself the same thing. I felt great!

As time went on it leveled off and the dosage was raised, twice, then I was told I was at the maximim level. But that was by my gp, before any dx. I wonder what my pdoc would say about dosages...

Most meds. take 3 to 6 week to feel the full effects but they all will work in some way right away weather its good or bad .alot of times our brains don't produce certain chemicals and thats what some pills put back in especially Anti-Dep. In time you wont even know that you are taking things will level out and thats why most people stop taking them.We all so use to a quick fix from drink and drugs that we think all pills should work that way.dodnt make that mistake I did .
I take 5 meds. and I use to the side effects so I dont even know im taking them anymore but thats how i know there working I feel normal. not good not bad but plain old normal.

Who really cares, you're feeling better and that is all that counts.

YES!!! It's what, 6 weeks later and I feel SO MUCH better.

I think it's the combo of Zoloft and Lamictal. I am now diagnosed Bipolar II. That is what made the difference this time, and a much more competent psych nurse.
