I am currently on 100 mg of Wellbutrin SR per day. I started on it right before Thanksgiving (end of November). Since that time, I have dropped nearly 15 lbs. I can't stabilize my weight crash. I have no appetite during the day, and it is all I can do to force down a protein bar mid-afternoon.

I do manage to get a slice of cinnamon toast and some OJ before I take my pill in the morning.

After that, it is just dinner and a snack before bed.

The major problem is that I still nurse my 22 month old, as she has serious food allergies. That automatically cuts eggs and dairy out of my diet. There are not enough foods that she can eat to thrive.... no wheat or soy or nuts or chicken either.

So between no appetite and a major calorie drain, I am in trouble here. I am assuming that it is the Wellbutrin that is causing the issues here. Although, with depression and all that thrown in, I am not terribly motivated to do anything.

Anyone have any good suggestions?

I don't know allot about Wellbutrin and I saw that weight loss was one of the side affects. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about it.

hello, after having nursed for a total of 8 years I guess I can offer you a guess. I don't know poo about wellbutrin and appetite though as you mention it I lost a bit of weight over a several month period since starting the med in June I believe. However, more important then calories is fluid for your milk. I drink hot water in the winter, seltzer in the warm. I drink like a camel and I know that is the main issue with quantity of milk. As for quality, your body robs mom to feed baby so take a multi vit with food in the a.m.? Your baby will be okay with milk, supply and demand as long as you drink a lot of fluids but do take a vit or two until this settles out okay? Good luck. By the way, I NEVER lost weight nursing.

Thanks, wisewoman. I try to drink lots of liquid. And I still take prenatal vitamins. I just need to restructure my day... have one more meal before bedtime, I think.
