I was on Effexor XR a few years ago and it didnt seem to cause any weight gain, actually I think weight loss is more common for it. I didnt gain any weight when I was taking it but I also had a loss of appetite.

Hi (((((((((((misty123))))))))))))))

A couple of people have asked that question (myself included)

Here are a couple of links to threads which you can read for AD med suggestions that are generally "neutral" for weight gain.

Link #1

Link #2

Hope that helps!

How about CYMBALTA? My pdoc wants to put me on that! It doesn't cause any weight gain does it? Anyone know or have been on it?

Thanks!

I'm on an MAOI and it doesn't have any weight gain properties but it does have the problem of having any other meds being prescribed with it. I don't have to follow any special diet because its such a low dose and its a new type of MAOI its called Emsam and its a patch. I put it on in the morning after my shower and I'm good for the day.
