The last few nights I've been having some very realistic dreams. I have to decide when I wake up if they are real or not. I actually thought yesterday that I had a conversation with my mom that she had told me that my Aunt and Uncle had evacuated their home but found out they had not. Boy was I embarrased because I had posted on a site I visit that they had evacuated.
Could this be a side effect to a new med? I was just recently switched from Cymbalta to Surmontil. Jbug

Dear Jbug...I've found that lots of medications bring on changes and intensities in my dreams. I've always been a vivd dreamer, in color, etc. I've never taken the medication you are experiencing this with now, but I know it keeps me from using Trazadone and others recommended by p-docs for sleep.

Lucid dreaming or nightmares could be a side effect of this med. I take it you didn't respond to Cymbalta, which is what I take. Surmontil is a tricyclic which is a different class of drug. Maybe your brain just needs time to acclomate.

The reason I was taken off of Cymbalta was I had an allergic reaction to it. I was bummed because I wanted it to work so bad. I had heard so many good things about it from a few people that had taken it.
