I have recently added lamictal to my mix of meds. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a metallic taste during the early stages of treatment with the drug. Lamictal & Metallic taste I am beginning my 3rd week of the dose pack. Thank you in advance Lamictal & Metallic taste

Fortunately I have not experienced that with Lamictal, the safety data sheet that comes with it when I get it at our A&P pharmacy states that can be non serious side effect, but to talk to your doc about it if it is troublesome, meanwhile maybe some sugarless gum or mints may help.

Thank you so much for your reply...i will have to get the information sheet you spoke of.... It really isn't a big problem...I was just curious if it was just myself playing a trick on me. I am on week 3 of the starter pack. Thank you again!

I've been on it for 2 years, was up to 300mgs and gradually pdoc allowed me to drop to 150mgs. I still have Klonopin and Ativan only to use when needed, not a daily thing.
Things are getting better in some areas of my life, and it will get better for you, just try to keep patience, good luck Lamictal & Metallic taste

Sincerely,
DE

Hi Daisy 6,

When I was on a Lamictal and Depakote Combo. I did experience the Metalic taste in my mouth. It was like I recall having a metalic saliva in my mouth. i beleve if I recall correctly I had the taste for about a month and it went away.

I remember feeling like I was sucking on a bunch of screws and bolts with some loose change in my mouth., Hope it will go away as well for you soon as it did for me then.

Take Care--
