I always call and leave T a message after session...the last few sessions have been SO ridiculously intense that I probably shouldn't even be driving, and I literally almost crash each time I leave a message. So in the middle of my messages, there is this "OMG! I almost just got killed!"

So, T called and left me this friendly yet stern message tonight. He said "from now on, I want you to leave a message before you leave the parking lot. It would put me in a horrible mood to hear a big crash on your message. Only call when the car is not moving. Okay? Okay!"

I felt kind of chided, but I also thought it was funny that T got all parental on me. I guess I will listen.

I could add that mine sort of has too... both the last two sessions she decided i was not fit for driving (due to swap outs in session; the first was way too young, the second was just not one of the drivers). So she told me to wait the first time in the lobby and would check in on me -and did so several times. Last session (oh i guess that was actually last night) she again wanted me to wait, and narrator told her we'd be in the car until ok. She said something about changing times so someone could keep and an eye on me (rather than me sitting in the parking lot in late evening)@_@ this is new...

Treehouse,

The good thing about your t getting parental on you is that at least you know he cares about you and does not want you to get hurt!

Awwww this sounds so sweet and caring
My T is always worried when I have to drive after an intense session. Once when I was a real mess she was like "let's have some tea before you leave. With cookies" lol lol lol

you better listen, missy!!! otherwise i will have to track T down and get him to up the parental stakes on you.

pdoc got parental on me once - it was cold here (probably summer weather for the UK though, ha) and i was wearing a jacket but probably not one that was as warm to be ideal. pdoc was like "! you're not walking home in that!" and went and called a cab for me.

Tree, glad your T got parental with you - be careful!!

My T got parental on me once - I slipped on something and started to fall in her office on my way out. She grabbed my arm to stop me from falling and said, "There's no falling in my office." Looking back on that, I realize that this could be interpreted many different ways, and it does make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

That has to be scary for your T listening to a message like, it was for me just hearing about it. You seriously need a major time out, young lady!

I agree with the no driving and cellphone talking. I think everyone here would agree that we would be devastated if something happened to you while you were talking on the phone and driving! It's not like there are not enough other drivers out there that you will need to watch out for.

Just wanted to report that after session today, I pulled over into a parking lot to leave my message for T. In session, he said that he almost had to close his cell phone listening to one of my messages because he thought I said I was going the wrong way on the freeway (I wasn't, I was on the wrong freeway) and he was expecting to hear crunching metal and was afraid he was going to be permanently traumatized. Oops. He was kind and smiling, but I did feel sort of bad...

When he left me my message he was like "I was SO GLAD to hear you calling me from a PARKING LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" lol

Lesson learned!
Thanks for this!

T does that to me sometimes. Just today she told me "if you get dizzy when you're driving, pull over."

It's funny, whenever T calls me in the morning, she usually calls me when she's driving. I just thought I would mention that.
