I had 2 very different phone call experiences.
The first one asked me a lot of questions- I felt like I was being interviewed and assessed over the phone based on interview questions: She had an abrupt tone and asked ED questions about weight, any diagnosis I have, the name of my current t (didnt give that info), a lot of insurance questions, what exactly I wanted to work on and she even asked childhood quesitons. I cant even get those words out in a session with a t I know no less with someone I dont know on the phone.

The other t called and had a soothing voice and only asked my insurance and who referred me. She said the appts are ABOUT 50 min meaning she can be there for me if I need her longer. I need someone like that. We didnt talk long and she ddnt interview me. I guess she understands she will get more info face to face.

To make things compicated, of course, both are scheduled for the same time!!! Well, someone has to be switched.....

The first T with the abrupt tone sounds too much like the T you see now. The second one sounds much better! Are either of these the one that your PNP recommended, or is that a THIRD one?

You're doing great!! I'm sure you'll be able to work out the appointments. I'd schedule the "soothing voice" T first if I were you.

Hey clk,

Why not trust your gut and ditch #1?

Great work!

Alrighty then- your vote counts! I will make the call right now and ditch #1. BTW, t #2 with the soothing voice was the reiki/EMDR/chakra therapist that was recommended by my PNP. The appt is wed at 11.

She sounded so nice and calming that I was immediately comfortable on the phone. As opposed to all the money/personal questions from t #1.

There are other candidates I didnt call yet. 1 I left a msg for but she is on vacation until the 13th (she happens to be in the same office as t with the abrupt tone) and I didnt call my 2 other choices yet.

I'm SO excited for you that "soothing voice" is the one your PNP recommended! I am chuckling over the name we are giving her, like it's an American Indian name, Soothing-Voice. I can't wait to hear if she lives up to her name. I think she will!

I vote for Soothing Voice T. The description of the other one was triggering for ME because it reminded me of Behind-the-Desk T--I can only imagine how you felt, clk. LOL

Soothing Voice, Soothing Voice!

Your description of the other one's interview really turned me off.

I'm excited, too, that Soothing Voice is the one your PNP recommended! One week til that appointment! So will you go back to your current T, or wait?

I would go with the soothing one as well, since you felt most comfortable with her on the phone. I am glad you are being proactive about your healing
Can't wait to hear how it goes!
