I just wanted to post about my session with T today. It went really well.
 We didn't cover much new ground, but we just kinda reflected on the work we've done together, and the progress I've made. T said a lot of things today that literally made my heart gush with warm and fuzziness.  We discussed the session when I first told her about my cutting, and we discussed both of our feelings on that day. She said she literally went home with a heavy heart because she hated seeing me in that distressing situation, but of course, her legal obligations were key. It just made me feel good that she cares enough to be affected by that. It made me feel loved. She also said, "When you're in this profession, and you're where you're supposed to be, I feel like you are able to work with the people who you need to be with. It's almost like...destined. You just get matched with the people that fit, and that you're supposed to be with." That made me feel SO good to hear, because my first thought was just such a good feeling that she thinks of me like that, and considers me to be someone whom she is meant to work with. We discussed how she's so honored that I've made her office my place of comfort, and the place that I bring my issues. It really made me feel good to hear her say that. So overall, I feel like we had a great, connecting session. Although we didn't cover any new ground, I feel like it was good that we could look back on our work together, and really just see how far we've come. Also, I feel good just being able to focus on our relationship for a bit.

Fallenangel,
What a super connecting session! Some of my best sessions have been when my t validates our connection and the importance of the therapy relationship. I wish she would do it more often. |

 I came away from yesterday's session ecstatic, to say the least, and I wanted to share it with you all. I do have such a wonderful T, and I feel SO lucky to have her.
