So im in my first therapy appt today. And i start talking about this website, and as it turns out she knows all about it and knows of John. WEIRD! but also kind of cool...

it went well. i couldnt shutup, for ninety ,minutes. I also told her i hate cbt and im likely to avoid going. she was *cool* with all ofit. iwas shocked.

I felt bad, because she was going on about how she always reverts back to cbt stuff.. and im like ummm... i hate cbt..how about dbt?lol.

But she does dbt too!

Its funny because when i walked by her office, i saw her, shes dressed nicely and conservative, so instantly my mind is like"ugh i bet i wont like her, i hope shes not uptight(holy judgemental cognitive distortion batman! lol...but i think it was more my mind trying to come up witha reason not to see her, no offence meant to conservatives). But anyways i sure learned better, shes NOT uptight at all. And shes chatty, which was really good, because the type who just like, asks a question and then leaves me hanging, doesnt work for me. Ill just sit there blushing. Yes, blushing. I blush. Who would have thought lol

I also like a T who is chatty - feels like it takes some of the pressure off me when I am at a loss for words (which is often.)
I hope this continues to go well for you!

LOL - how crazy that she knows doc john!!! i would be waaay weirded out if my pdoc/T knew about this site (and for that reason alone, i am never going to ask).

i'm glad your session went well. dont feel bad about saying you hate cbt - i'm told my T that i hate dbt, and that seems to be his speciality. but he was cool with it, and we get along great.
