tomorrow i am scheduled to see the pdoc. today i saw t and told her my fears about seeing the doc. i am so torn as to what i am going to actually tell her. of course the t says be honest and talk to the doc, but im scared to admit the thoughts, si and the sleeping trouble that has been on going for several weeks now. i dont want to be sent to the hospital. actually i have self admitted 2 times in the past and i dont think i am at that point yet, but will the doc believe that or just cover her own butt.

That does sound scary.

I'm sure the pdoc will just want to make sure you are safe.
I hope you are honest with her.
If she is worried about you, maybe you could sign a safety contract with her?

I hope the appt goes ok - let me know how you are, ok?

Hi. I hope it went well. Sorry to post late to your thread. I had the same fears, but I told everything I could and it went well. I did it so I could be on the correct med. I dont imagine a pdoc would admit you right off if you say you are OK and dont want to go.

Post and let us know how it went

I am going for the first time today. And I am really nervous about it. Not sure what kind of information has been passed along by my T. If any. So I don't know what to expect. I know I need to get my meds straightened out. My T has also talked about the possibility of me having ADD. So I don't know if I'm just going to be asked a butt load of questions. My mind goes blank.

good luck, polarsmum.

you probably will be asked quite a few questions, but if it feels overwhelming you can always say that it's getting too much, you're feeling tired, or that you simply dont want to answer .

my pdoc gave me some meds on my first visit, but i was in a bad shape and was practically begging for something. he didn't do anything drastic - just started me off on a low dose of something quite common - and we left the "in depth" analysis for a better time.

come back and let us know how you go, ok? i'll be sending you warm thoughts .

Well I went this afternoon. And it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I basically talked to her about my depression. And then told her about some stuff that T and I talked about. So she wanted to talk to him to find out what his thoughts were about the other stuff. So for right now I am just sticking with the meds I started with and adding something to it. So we'll see if it helps with the remaining symptoms. I need to go back in 2 weeks. I'm hoping this combo works. Otherwise I have to start from scratch again. Which I really don't want to do.
