I was in bed sick with the flu, and completely forgot I had therapy at 6 last night.

I feel horrible about it, because the last appointment I had with her was weeks ago, and I wasn't able to get there on time so I have to pay her in full *no insurance*.

This is bad, because I'm already not making enough this month. I have the flue so i can't work till at earliest saturday meaning I make max around 50 this whole WEEK. I also had to take sick last week because of similar *if not the same thing* and only made 90 another week. I normally make at LEAST 160/week. So now ontop of rent and everything else another 60 for each appointment... and well. Obviously I'm in financial icky. I'm glad I have some money saved up but basically I'm in negative digits this month.

It's bad enough I have the flu... not therapy is wrecked and my school might not let me back in too.

had to rant this. I'm so sad and angry at myself but I know I was so out of it, the flu has me I can't even think at all I HATE BEING SICK. IT'S BAD ENOUGH FEELING THIS WAY BUT FINANCIAL STUFF IS HITTING HARD NOW TOO.

Have you talked to your t about maybe being able to pay out your bill over time for a few weeks? Sometimes mine will let us do that when we're having an especially bad month. Also, let her know you were sick. Sometimes mine will just excuse it since it is so rare that I miss an appointment.

I hope it all works out for you financially. Financial stress is awful.

last year...during the "dark period" of over-medicated hell...i sat down on my sofa on saturday and woke up on tuesday at about noon when t called and said "ah you have a long standing appt at 11:30 and you aren't here...are you okay?"

i woke from the stupor and said...sure but its only saturday so why are you calling...she said "no its tuesday...at noon."

okay...thanks to the meds i slept/passed out into a coma for like 3.5 days i guess....nice right. right on the sofa...sitting up in the same spot. dogs right next to me.

managed to stumble over there (its only a few minutes away)...needless to say she was a tad concerned and called pdoc and the regular doc right away...and this was fairly early on in the year of the dark period....

talk to your t i'm sure she can work something out...espcially if you call with the "i've got the flu" voice....

I'm so sorry about your flue and your financial situation. I'm right there with you in that boat, and I don't have a paddle either! It's so easy to forget a T appt or any other. I understand why they charge full price, but I don't think they should or would have to. I've paid the same thing due to forgetting appt for some similar reason. I have not been able to afford therapy for a long time, but sometimes it's necessary in order to heal. I hope your situation gets better and you are able to get back to full time work soon. And I'm glad that you at least have a job in this day and age. Caring about You ~ billieJ

Financial difficulty is very hard to deal with, and being sick as well is even more to deal with.

Do you think you might call T to explain what happened? This is flu season and we can't predict when we (including T's) might be sick. Not remembering your appointment is very understandable in this situation; you were sick and resting, trying to feel better.

I hope your financial situation gets better for you, and your school will let you back in. It is just so stressful to have going on.
