if you dont remember what happened in the entire therapy session, but clearly there is no other appointment, would you call to find out what happened?

or just forget it and move on?

The events:
T doublebooked, I could barely hear myself think while they waited, then high pressure firing questions, then ????
i think i got thrown out

If this is with the one you saw yesterday that went so badly, you probably need to just move on.
Thanks for this!

Solarwind,

Yes, I would try and find out. I mean, obviously it is going to bother you if you don't right? It would bother me... Even if you just want some closure, it would be good to know what happened, I think.

Hugs to you, I know you are having such a hard time finding the right T...
Thanks for this!

when I first started seeing the therapist I have right now she told me right off the bat that its pretty standard for people with dissociation problems not remembering things all the time and she would like to video tape me so that we have a record of my sessions, and any time I was having problems remembering what goes on during our sessions just give her a call and she would schedule a "viewing session" do that she and I could spend a session watching the tape and then talking about it. there have been many sessions I didn't remember and I called and we watched the tapes.

my opinion call your T and explain you lost some time and would like to schedule a time for you to come in and find out what happened and then talk about how you can fix it so that if you lose time again you have a plan and a way to know what happened.

the therapists around here are very happy to video and audio record sessions when the clients ask. a lot of places around here have permanent cameras installed in their therapy rooms in case any of their clients want to record their sessions.

From your other post it seems there was a serious mishap in scheduling and something went very wrong. You would deserve a BIG apology. It is very unprofessional to double-book for a psych visit! But maybe there is more to the story than we know?

I would want to call and find out what happened and why. And also see if there is an explanation you are missing. Because if you forget what happened, maybe there is a detail that you're not aware of? This T sounded good on the phone, right?

(((((Solar)))) Im sorry I havent been following along and I dont know what is going on with your Ts. Im so sorry I'll back up and read previous posts.

But I would call and find out. I dont think it is great for a T to double book a therapy appt. Was it an accident?

And if T apologizes than you will find out what happened and possibly why you dont remember.

(((((Solar))))),

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time finding a T. I would want to ask what happened if it were me. How could you not know if you got thrown out or not? I don't understand. But I never heard of a T doublebooking. Well, actually my former T told me that once she made a scheduling mistake, and had to reschedule someone. She would never rush someone's session for that reason, though. She would reschedule. But, if you liked this T on the phone, I would ask her about it and see what she says. Otherwise, I would resume my search.

Do you have any other doctor, even a medical dr., you could ask for some names of Ts? Or a local hospital, maybe? I know you will find a T you like; don't give up!
