With all the "excitement" of finally breaking up with T, I didn't realize that I'm alone until just now. Not that I wasn't before, but there was a "safety net" in someone laying eyes on me each week to see if I was stable. What if I "loose it" again? Will anyone be able to see that before it gets bad? Oh crap...I screwed up...AGAIN.

Maybe you could see if there are any Ts in your area who are familiar with selective mutism? Just because you haven't had good luck with Ts so far, don't give up!

I will check into that...def. Should there be a waiting period between T's? Should I give myself time to decompress, or should I dive back in? I'm sure after a few days I'll get my feet back under me. Maybe I'll even enjoy the freedom. It's just the "check-in" thing, I can get really unstable, really fast.

If you're at risk of becoming unstable really quickly, it's probably worth it to find a T right now that you can work with. When I found my T, there wasn't much of a wait...I think I called him one week and saw him the next week.

I hope you find someone who can give you what you need.

Do you talk to your husband about it? Doesn't he watch some to see how you're doing and know the "drill"?

I would take some time to find a therapist who might help. If you are schizo-affective, there's lots that can be worked on/helped with. If you don't want a therapist, I'd find a group interest I liked and attended weekly, etc. I was taking one-on-one quilting lessons for over a year and met other women and had a fun/great teacher my age and it worked well for me as a "check-in" sort of thing. That or just a social/group therapy sort of arrangement that isn't too complicated?

Thanks Perna, my husband doesn't really know much. I am really secretive, a total non-communicator. He usually catches on after I do something horrendous. By then I'm pretty psychotic. A group interest that doesn't involve T sounds like a good idea! Something to take the focus off of me and my problems, and put it on something else is definitely plausible. It sounds healthy too. I am waiting a call back from my Pdoc, to see if he's cool with me taking a breather. (fingers crossed)
