Funny therapy talesFunny therapy talesFunny therapy tales
I think these tales are really funny, but I don’t know if it’s appropriate to post them here. Well, I´ll give it a try.

Those are cute; helps one remember we're not alone in our experiences.

If I'm not mistaken, the artist ("wounded genius") is our friend BTC, author of that great (now closed) blog, Behind The Couch.

Thanks for link to these cartoons!! I thought it was interesting that without any words exchanged you can tell which one is the client - the one that is trembling

This one made me laugh out loud http://talesoftherapy.wordpress.com/...erapy-tales-9/

and this one http://talesoftherapy.wordpress.com/...erapy-tales-1/
Thanks for this!

Indeed she is.
Behind the Couch was an immense help to me as I started therapy last year. And I'm lovin' her cartoons.
She is an amazing person online, and I'm sure she's equally awesome IRL. (safe e-hug)

Oy vey.. Clark Kent would not last long round here!

No WePow, fortunately this did not happen to me! It was born of a strange conversation I had online about staring at therapists' shoes.. and then the rest of it took off from there

Actually I will be publishing (in an online sense) in an new online therapist journal - I'll have to create some new work for it too! - but I can't post any links on here yet - I'll put a link on the TT Facebook Page which you can reach from my blog. (look for the ubiquitous "F" logo)

Thanks again guys!

Thanks for this!

What I love about cartooning is how so much can be said with just a few strokes of the pen. Look at these - so stark - no background - just the two pairs of knees, legs, feet - who could believe that much could be pulled out of just that. And yet - the therapeutic dyad is the essence, not the room or anything else.

One cartoon shows the client blathering about something and the T's foot is tapping with quiet impatience - and then the client mentions the mother and T's foot stops moving immediately. Tiny stuff, powerful stuff, nothing wasted. I love it!!

sitting - I agree with you. I showed the toons to my guys at work and they were rolling laughing at some of them. The other guy who has combat PTSD really liked the POT PLANT gift toon. :-) The dude on my team who is an artist made the same comment you did about the simple lines and how sometimes less is a whole lot more. That is why I love these! Most toons try to tell you what to think is funny about them. Ugggg. I like how this is old school and the person can see the toon through their own eyes. Good stuff.

This one is my T's office! :-) I think it is cute because he almost goes to sleep around me. For some reason, I think that makes me feel like he must trust me and I must feel safe to him :-) LOL
