So, like you guys I am really missing T. He's on vacation and it's been a week since I last saw him. Today was a really rough day--I started back to work and felt really annoyed at him for never being around during this stressful time of year for me (I'm a schoolteacher). Anyhow, I was trying to remind myself about the session we had before he went away, and how nice nad kind he was in-session. He does this sort of thing when we're going to have a break where he reminds me of the qualities of the relationship. But I can't for the life of me remember exactly what he said and it's driving me crazy! It was something like, "blah, blah, blah, bah." You get grouchy, I get grouchy and we work it out." I wish I could remember what the blah blah blah meant!
I just don't know if my memory issues are dissociative, medication effects, or anxiety I might have about a situation-in this case, T's abandoning me again. I I really wish he were here. __________________ [/url] |

Sorry you are missing your T. I don't have any suggestions for how to remember more. I also struggle to remember the things my T says. I go in telling myself "this time I will remember more," but it always ends up a fuzzy memory. I even asked T once how I could remember more of what he says, but I don't remember what his answer was

Do you remember how you FELT about what he said?
I'm sorry you are missing him. It's an unlucky coincidence that he always takes his holidays when school starts and you need him. |

I make it a point to journal about my sessions as soon as I get home from them. That helps me hone in on the most important messages at least.

I could never remember the exact wording my T used and it sometimes bothered me when I wanted to. I got very good at remembering "subjects" and the gist of what was said and/or exact experiences and what their "moral" was :-)

I wish I remembered more of each session because I would like to be able to hold the same subject across multiple sessions. I should journal like other PC members do.

Yeah, I like the idea of remembering the feeling. I felt like he said something really really nice. So I guess I'll go with that. After reading Tree's post, I agreed (with myself) that I am simply missing him so much and angry with him at the same time. This year the feelings of abandonment that I am working through are a bit different. I'll try and write it out tonight.
