Ok, this is kind of dumb, but this is what crossed my mind today while I was "mindlessly" doing chores and I thought everyone here on PC could appreciate it.
I was thinking about my T and replaying some of the stuff from my session earlier in the week. Then, I got to thinking about how strange it is to think about this person so many times during the week. Then, I wondered how many other patients he has and how many of them were also thinking about him right then. Isn't it strange to think that there is a little cluster of people in your area all thinking of your T? ![]() See, I told you it was a silly thing to be thinking about, but these are the thoughts that cross my mind when I'm cleaning house. Cheers all. And cheers to all my geographical neighbors out there thinking of my T ![]()

I've never thought about that before. I guess I'd say I think about T more than anybody else ever could, but that's probably not true. It kind of blows my mind to think that she might be as important to other clients as she is to me.

My T told me she has had about 2000 clients in her career. 2000 people could be thinking of my T right now....feel the love, T!

Power trips? Hmmm. It depends on what those clients are actually thinking...
Polaris, have you ever thought about how any people are thinking about you at any given moment of time? You might be surprised. |

![]() some Ts focus very much on the "here and now" stuff in therapy and I get the feeling they DO get power trips from it, more or less. Yalom comes to mind - oops - there I go thinking of him too and I don't even like him - eeks ![]() |

But you probably were not thinking of me at the time I wrote that...

I think while in therapy, the client needs to think of the T about the same amount of time that a child thinks about a parent. The parent can have many children and has to think of the other kids along with work and household tasks, but you know that the parent will think if the child as well ;-)
