I was thinking about what WePow said about having PC as a place to be loved (sorry I don't remember exactly, WePow). I think this forum means as much to me as my T means to me because I don't share as much with anyone in RL as I do here. I get the same kind of compassion as I get from T. No one in RL responds the way PCers do to me.

I think it's because we skip the superficiality and get right to the nitty-gritty. We don't even know much about another person like where they live, their family, where they work, how old they are, what nationality they are, etc. It doesn't matter!! All the things that matter in RL don't matter here. It's that way in therapy with our Ts, and here too, but not anywhere else.

It would be really nice if people could be like that in RL too. Give hugs and love whenever asked and whenever needed. To respond when someone is hurting. To give with no strings attached. Ts and PCers do that.

I am very new to this forum but I am coming to feel the same way.

I also see myself imitating my T in my relationships by giving validation, encouragement, compliments, etc, which is good since I am usually one of those cold people you refer to.

I agree. It's taking me a while, but other than with t, this is the safest place i know. I don't get judged here.

this place is a treasure, really. The constant support and encouragement, the lack of drama, it is different than most other internet communities. I am SO GLAD I found PC, and this board specifically, and I'm so glad you all found it too. It would be lonely here with just me. LOL

Thanks for sharing your feelings, Rainbow. I echo those feelings....and in some ways, I get more from PC than my own T. I am less afraid to post what I'm feeling here than when I'm face to face with T. PC helps me build up the courage to face those fears at times, and gives me so much support right when I need it. It's an amazing place - like no other. ((( hugs )))

I don't know how I'd cope without PC. I kind of mentioned it to my T, and she called it my Group Therapy - I think I like that analogy!

I feel the same, Rainbow. I am so grateful to be able to post here- t really does save me at times. It is ok to come and go from here as we please, to be away from the forum and to be welcomed back with open arms, no questions asked. If RL was like this forum maybe we wouldn't all be in T!
