My crazy insurance approved 5 visits when T asked for 2 for the remainder of the year. Well, he is not going to be on-network next year and I have to drop down to 2x month cash. Soooo... my T is going to see me 3x this week

I want to spend the time finding out the emotional regulation skills he wants me to learn. This out to be very interesting.

I am happy that I get to see him this much all at one time. But I am nerveous about going to every other week.

((((((((( WePow ))))))))

everyone is different but I find that weekly is almost too much for me; every other week gives me time to process (and to breathe) before I have to go back. I hope that every 2 wks turns out to be a good thing for you.

when you get into "emotional regulation skills" do you think you might share? That phrase means nothing to me.....
Thanks for this!

Yep - I will post whatever I learn :-) I also think that going to 2x a month will be good for me. It will make me do what I need to do.

Woah, 3 times in one week? I would find that both awesome and frightening because of my attachment issues, haha.

I have always gone every 2-3 weeks for as long as I've been in therapy. I've never needed to go more often unless something's really bothering me. Also, my T does not take my insurance so I have to pay out of pocket.
Thanks for this!

That's great that you will be able to take advantage of seeing T 3x this week....although transitioning from that to every 2 weeks seems like it would be difficult for me.

I see T 2x/week - once during group T and once individually. But I'd imagine that seeing T once every two weeks would allow me to focus more on my life than "living in therapy".

I'm very curious as well about the emotional regulation skills. I could use some of that myself!

WePow - sounds like he is going to throw some DBT at you - some of the emotional regulation and interpersonal stuff is interesting - remembering to use it gets harder...keep us up to date

Well today's session was just dealing with the last session stuff and holiday stuff. So no new skills. T didn't remember what happened last session so I had to remind him. Yah - that stuck me inside but I figure that is a part of being a client to a T who has a lot of us. Will see if we touch on the skills tommorow.
