Thanks so much to all of you that helped me and supported me with my stuff this weekend. I had a great session yesterday. I feel like all of my sessions are awesome, even the really hard ones, because my T knows what she's doing and assures me she's there.

Over the weekend I posted a thread about how sad I was that my friend is seeing my therapist and if it was reasonable for me to ask my T not to schedule us back to back for our sessions. Well, I talked to T about it and about how silly and childish I felt for having the feelings I had and her response was so sweet and loving. Of course, you know we dug deeper and, as she says it, "peeled the onion" and talked about what was at the core of my feelings and where they stemmed from in my childhood. Darn you, childhood!!!

She kept saying things like, "Thank you for sharing this with me, I'm really proud of you; I know how big this is for you; I'm sorry you struggled with this for so long". Awww, T! I told her she was "da bomb" and she giggled. She said she will be sure not to schedule my friend and I back to back so that I don't run into her in the waiting room again. Yaaay!

We talked a great deal about how I felt about this and how she and I can make it better for me when I start to feel those abandonment and jealous feelings. It made me feel so happy to have her not think I was silly, but acknowledge these are real feelings for me and she helped me work through them. As I was leaving, she gave me one of her signature, yummy hugs and I almost skipped to my car, but I resisted. LOL!

Thanks, PC fam! You guys are the best!

Peridot, I'm sorry I didn't post in your first thread but I am so happy for you that your T was so understanding about the situation with your friend. She does sound amazing!! I'm glad it worked out and you're feeling so good! Yeah, it seems all of our issues stem from childhood but sometimes it's hard to figure it out.

Isn't it great how we can get such valuable feedback here on PC? To be able to learn of others' experiences and to feel like we're not so alone with these challenges and that we can receive what we learn on PC and take it to our T is so wonderful. I am very grateful to the founders and creators of PC.

Congrats Peridot
