Hi guys.

Good to see you all again!

I am done with my graduate school interviews and am happy to report that I've gotten in to a great PhD program in clinical psychology, with full funding (they will pay me to go to school). Now it's just time to get things settled etc before I move. But I haven't been doing so well... so I decided to come back and get back into the community. I've missed you guys.

I have been treading into dangerous trauma-related territory in therapy and it's been making me pretty emotionally volatile, and I decided that it would be best for me to come back to PC to be in a supportive environment again.

Not only are we starting to sort of "go there" with trauma, but also things in my life have been getting stirred up. Some incredibly awful things have been happening in my family, mostly to my sisters. It's really just too overwhelming to think or talk about right now.

I am going to try to catch up a bit on everyone now.

Hi Jexa...welcome back! I'm a Psych student too, but planning on getting my LICSW after I finish my bachelors. The thought of graduate school completely overwhelms me! Congratulations!

Congratulations on the PhD program Jexa! How impressive that you got a scholarship into that program. You must be a very hard worker and an excellent student. Sorry to hear about the troubles with family though. I hope you can work through everything quickly and in a healthy way. It sounds llike you're on the right track though. Welcome back Jexa!
Thanks for this!

Thanks guys so much. Wow, I don't know why I ever would leave PC, this community is incredible!

I read over my post and realized how ambiguous it was.. my sisters' troubles are mostly drug-related but my one sister, who I love dearly, decided to take to the roads and be homeless in New Orleans for a while. It's just a part of her self-destruction, though she wouldn't admit that she meant it as a self-destructive act. As you can imagine, it's very unsafe to be a homeless drug addict in New Orleans. Some really bad things happened.

Anyway, now she is back with my parents, so hopefully things will get better from here.

I am really happy about getting in to a PhD program though! I am just hoping to process things in therapy quickly since now I'll only be in the area near my T until August 1. Yikes -- what a timeline
