This is just bad. I only slept like 2 hours and I'm in just as bad shape as right after the trauma happened.

I'm texting him because my words are still stuck so I can't call, but he has a dino phone so I'm not sure it'll help because I can't see him as a skilled texter. He doesn't trust email and my other option is to fax, but I can't stand in the middle of Staples and break down.

So I'm texting. This should be interesting...

Hang in there Elli-Beth! You are incredibly strong! Do you know any relaxation techniques or mental imagery? They help me calm down in times like these. Remind yourself you are safe now.

I hope your t texts you back. I figured my t would barely know what a mobile phone is but she has a blackberry and according to her she's actually a good texter so you never know! Can you curl up under your duvet and watch something you enjoy and try and get some rest. I keep hearing that resting with your eyes closed is nearly as good as sleeping - don't think that's true but it might help you feel a little better. Keep writing here if it helps. I'll be here on and off most of the day. Hang in there.

Ok, message sent. I got back a blank text, like he doesn't know how. Kinda funny if I weren't such a basket case right now.

I'm glad you reached out, Elli-Beth. If the texting doesn't work, can you have the person you're seeing today call for you??

Thinking of you

Awwww sorry he didn't write anything. Guess you know he's out there at least, not sure if that helps. Could you call if you wrote down something to say? Or even though he doesn't trust email maybe email him anyway if you know his address and at least he'll know whats going on and maybe he can call you and give you some support even if you can't say anything back to him?

Yay! He can see me today! And right before I see my other support person! And he figured out the texting thing!

Yeah, it did bring a grin to see him trying to text! But me calling wouldn't have worked because the mutism is pretty severe right now. I did kind of expect him to leave a voicemail, but all worked out anyway.

Time for me to leave now. I'll let y'all know how things go.

Oh my gosh, I feel SO much better! The problems are still there, but he was so reassuring and calm and positive! The difference is amazing! And I was able to start talking a bit again!
Thanks for this!

That's awesome Elli-Beth. I'm glad you are feeling a little better and that words are coming a little easier. It's completely overwhelming when you can't get them out.
