It was such a nice day, as soon as I got to T, she said " lets go for a walk today its so nice out" so we went for a walk and talked about things, we walked through this beautiful wooded area that is surrounded by water and bridges and water falls. It was beautiful. she said I was the only one that could go for a walk with her. I told her I didnt mind, i love going for walks. I love when we have these non traditional therapy days, then again, nothing about my T is traditional. I kinda like it that way. we still had therapy, we still did our breathwork( in her car) but it was nice to walk and talk,.

That kind of session has been a vision for me on occasion. Her office is only 2 blocks from a beautiful park but I doubt if my T would ever do it. But it's nice to fantasize. I've even visualized us going to a coffee shop to talk.

That sounds SO nice, Beth. I thought my T would never agree to going on a walk with me, but when I told her that she said she would. We haven't done it yet, but on the first nice day I'm going to ask her. Unfortunately there is no pretty scenery close enough to walk to from her office. Last week she had come in from a walk, but I didn't ask her where she walked. I wish we could go to a lake but we'd have to go in a car so I now that's out!

Your T sounds a little like mine.

I think because she knows Im pretty much open to anything, and that i wouldnt mind taking a walk, whereas most of her clients like to have an in office session. She knows im down for whatver. This isnet the first time we have gone on walks together. she knows i enjoy going for walks.

I agree. I am one of those that would hate this. I am weird that way.

If others saw you with her, or overheard what you were talking about, how would you feel about that?

Must say that I would freak out if she told me I am the only client she can do stg with. I like to be one of many. No special treatment.
That being said I would love to go out for a session. The wetter is so nice and I am stuck inside. Maybe one day I get the courage to ask him out

I love going for walks with T. We don't do it often, but when we do it's nice. Sometimes it's just down to the river to throw rocks and sometimes it's just because it's super nice outside. It's fun to get out of the office environment at times.

Once my therapist invited me over to her house, and we baked pancakes :P I had to pay for it I believe. I don't believe it was very professional form of therapy..but yours sounds ok.

It sounds like such a lovely thing to be able to do with your Therapist! I know mine wouldn't plus to me the time of 50 minutes goes so quick I can't imagine us getting far. I would love to try it every so often but I also like to be in an enclosed environment when talking about deep personal things!

If I was at the stage that I didn't need to talk to my therapist about deep things and was able to use a session on going for a walk I think she would think it was time to end therapy because I must be at the stage to not need it as much.
