Hi guys,

Just got back from my appt. It was good. It helped. I did tell him i purged and he did not judge me at all. We discussed a lot of things that made me see I am doing a good job. I'm not perfect, and I need to work on my coping skills
(who doesn't :P)
He and I made a list of successes that I have achieved. I still do not see it, but he told me to work on the list and accept it.

I see the pdoc tomorrow- And will keep my regular appt tomorrow with the T.

Right now, I am calm..

Thanks for the update Tina! Glad to hear it was a valuable session It is always easier, at least to me, for others to find my success rather than me. It seems that it's easier for me to find my failures - how bass ackwards is that?!

Good for you. My T did the same thing for me not long ago. SHE wrote down all my strengths because she knew that I wouldn't do it myself.
Thanks for this!

I'm glad it was a helpful session for you. You were beating up on yourself so much.

When I've fallen back into an old poor coping mechanism and feel ashamed, my T always says something like, "You felt severe anxiety, and you were trying to manage it and feel better. It makes sense that you did X. You were doing the best you could in that moment." That makes it easier to talk about doing something besides X next time. It especially strikes me that in your original post you said something like purging was the least destructive option you saw. Look at that: you were trying to avoid hurting yourself badly, but still manage the feelings. You did the very best you could. Your T is right, you are doing good.
Thanks for this!
