Your greatest contribution in this world – your greatest ministry, your greatest service – will not be through your strengths, but through your pain. Sharing your weaknesses and your pain.

The very thing that you like least to talk about in your life, the very thing you’re most embarrassed about, the very thing you want to hide in the closet, the very thing that you don’t even want to think about is the very thing that God can use in your life to help and encourage other people.

Don’t waste your pain.
Thanks for this!

Squiggle, I'm reading again the Debbie Ford book about our shadows. It's called "The Dark Side of the Light Chasers". I had read this book a few years ago and enjoyed it 'intellectually' but I know now that I have to do the work now.

What we don't like about ourselves, what we're embarrassed about, what we don't want to acknowledge are the emotions and traits that we fear most in ourselves When we hide and deny our dark sides, rejecting these aspects of our true natures, we don't allow ourselves the freedom to live authentically".

I highly recommend that anyone who wants to heal themselves begin the difficult shadow work. I'm just beginning it now because I have not led a truly authentic life and doing this work, I believe, will transform my life in ways I can only imagine.
Thanks for this!

As I was looking back through the threads I started in here, I came across this. This is really true. If we can only see past the pain...........

right now, I sure can't see past it.......and feel like it's only increasing and deepening, like a hole getting deeper and daylight further away. but this is a good thing for people to think about, certainly.....

While I appreciate the sentiment, I do not agree with it.

The greatest gift I can give the world is not my suffering, but my love. My suffering gets in the way of that love.

Pain, shame, embarrassment - all of it, to me is a waste, regrettable yet unavoidable.

I did not get spared from it, but all of it has little meaning for me, it just is.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
