So I can't go into too much detail b/c I'm always so paranoid that people would be able to figure out who I am based on what I say...but basically my T and I are both going to be at a luncheon on Monday...I wasn't aware he was going until he said something about it this evening-he asked if that was okay with me-and I said yes-and honestly it is...I guess I'm just nervous that it will be awkward (it's going to be a small setting with not a lot of other people-and only a few of my other friends that will be there too know I see him)...I figure I will end up not even really speaking to him...ohh it's going to be interesting for sure! Does anyone have any tips?!

I was in that situation a lot with my former T. Yes, it was awkward. There's no getting around that fact. I managed, though. Sometimes I sat near her and we made small talk. We always said hi at least. I used to watch her when we were in a large group setting; I couldn't help it. Another time she sat next to me at a lecture and I felt like a deer caught in the headlights! Eventually it got better when I saw her in RL, though.
You'll get through it. Just say "hi" and try to ignore him. He will do the same with you. After I got over the weirdness of it, I liked seeing my T outside of the office. At least I knew where she was and what she was doing at that time! ![]() |

Thanks Rainbow...yeah I think it will end up being fine-I will just say Hi-and try not to watch him interacting with the other people too much...ohh and on top of this there is going to be a guy I dated there who I have talked about with T-haha (seriously...super awkward) I'm sure we will discuss it in session next week depending on how it goes! I think I'll try just acting like it's no big deal

I would just "give it up". I remember when I was in college and we had a Secret Santa thing in our dorm where someone had picked your name and left you a little present like a candy bar every day with a "clue" as to who they were and then on the final night's Christmas party they gave a larger present and revealed who they were. Mine turned out to be a friend, my next door neighbor in the dorm and she gave me an adorable bra and panty set so I put them on and went next door; she had a single, had the room to herself, I knocked and opened the door and. . . she wasn't there but her boyfriend was
![]() I would just go up to him right away and say "hi" and do a little chit chat and see if you can't get rid of some of the awkwardness that way, try to normalize the rest of the meeting?

My Pdoc daughter and my daughter went to the same school, same age, same activities.
So I saw him a lot out of the office setting. I would just make normal small talk with him IT worked out
