Gosh now im soo confused i dnt know wat to do! Tdoc saw me for 2nd time this week. Went ok. Since i wasnt hysterically crying like tue we were just talking bout my fear of my ins ending and me having to stop seeing him
He didnt seem to concerned. I wanna see him for a while (like a yr) n was hoping he'd jump in & say dont worry i can give you a sliding scale fee or something like that but didnt. I guess ill bring it up when time comes. Anyways to the big issue. Pdoc dx me with bipolar 1. Prev pdoc dx me with bipolar II. Tdoc thinks these are wrong, that i have major depression. Ugggh so pdoc during last week when my depression was BAD, he was goin on vacay outta country. He said if u feel like super bad (si basically) then go to so n so hospital n tell them ur my pt. N they'll admit u n do ect on you. When i told my tdoc this he said i should talk to another pdoc (he gave me a list)....and sounds like my pdoc is frustrated since im a "tough case" (pdocs words) cuz all the medicine isnt working! He wAs also questioning that he would so such a 'last resort' procedure this fast. But i have tried pretty much every AD and am on 2 mood stabilizers, maoi Ad now. Im keeping a mood chart..... Ughhh im so confused! Now i feel torn between 2 docs, they dont see eye to eye. I e being seeing them both since end of aug so at the same time. I dont know who to trust anymore. One thing IS right. My meds arent working. Tdoc also threw out idea of since no meds r working, maybe its deep rooted psychological issues but maybe not all cuz i have deep rooted fam hx o mental illness. Tdoc also said maybe hormonal and i may wanna see endocrinologisg?! Since meds arent working!! Left there today feeling so lost..... |

All I think Tdoc was trying to help you see is that there are many options. Personally I saw my Primary Care first who ran a full history and lab work to be sure it was not some other physiological issue. I don't think you should be torn between docs. I had the same issue with Tdoc and Pdoc not seeing eye to eye no good advice there other than continue being honest with both and as long as you feel the care is appropriate then chuck the opinions. ECT is typically, to my understanding, an absolute last resort and my T told me to not authorize it ever (i forget the reasons sorry). How long is Pdoc going to be out of town? I guess if you do a bit ofresearch on ECT or are questioning Pdocs handling of your case then I would seek another opinion. Hope this helps...

do your therapist and psychiatrist communicate with each other? it feels to me like they are putting you in the middle of their conflict on diagnosis and its stressing you out! your providers should be collaborating and not making you a go-between....

Melissad81- i mean i did have a full physical done by my primary care 6 mo ago which incl. The bloodwork that goes along with it..it was normal. Idk what an endocrinologist does ... I mean i know theres bloodwork involved
Dr.Muffin- no they dont have any contact with eachother whatsoever. Even tho either dr. Has never said anything i get the feeling they dont like eachother. When i tried to get an opinion on tdoc from pdoc, he was all stop seeing him, get stabilized and bring me in a list from your ins and ill recc names.... Tdoc says he never spoke to him but who knows. He said hes old and maybe i can get a better perspective from a younger pdoc who relates better to younger ppl?! Obviously im torn between the 2 and what to do! ![]() |
