All,
My T cancelled my appointment for this week. I had talked about not being sure about therapy at all, and then, the cancellation ....by T. (Yes, I'm somewhat upset by this development, but I've decided that I need to work at not creating a mini-drama in my head about a single cancellation). But what DID strike me is that therapy feels like a part-time job to me. Know what I mean? Given that I already have a full-time job, this is getting to be a little....MUCH. No question buried here, just an observation. I'm exhausted. And frankly, the circumstance that presents itself is one that SD called the GREAT ESCAPE. Tempting, isn't it? ![]() |

So this is the time to try to remember why you began therapy. Are the issues you wanted to deal with solved or have they become manageable? We sometimes direct our frustration at 'therapy' when in actuality it is 'ourselves'.

Oh I love a good illumination. I am still exhausted, though, and I do think that therapy has contributed to that feeling because it's hard to manage on top of my day job. That's why it feels like moonlighting.
As for the issues, one of them is substantially better...remarkable improvement, in fact. The other two....not so much. But I don't know if T can help with those because of the nature of our relationship. Sigh....this is going to take some time.... |

Can you get your mind off it between sessions a little somehow to give yourself a break? (If you focus on it as overly much as I do, that is.)

I work much harder at my therapy than at my job, so it is my day job that is the distraction!

I have felt that it is like a part time job at times.
But then my anxiety/depression/worry/fretting/meltdowns/etc also can feel that way, so I think it's a good trade ![]() |
