I got asked this question the other day: "If you were in a fairy or traditional tale, which character would you most be like and why?" It was a good question so I thought I'd post it and see who other people would be? I found it hard to answer and said I would probably be a mixture of a few characters.

Ugly duckling....not a swan but just grew up into an ordinary duck. Good enough!

Not a fairy tale, but a Nusery rhyme.................. I feel (and look) a lot like Humpty Dumpty right now. Broken into a million pieces and wondering if I'll ever be put back together again.

Talk about internalizing your therapist! The very first thought in my head was "Gandalf the grey" slaying the Balrog demon.
Funny, because my therapist was definitely the Gandalf "archetype" in my head. Now, evidently, I am. I guess this means that therapy either worked, or a I am crazier than ever! ![]()

I always thought I was Peter Pan. I know - how cliché :-)
But it is strange because I always saw in Peter Pan the opposite of what the syndrome says. 1) The ability to stay young and full of energy in spite of the work needed to be independent. 2) A joy in the simple things of life. 3) Being able to not take things so seriously that they rob you of vitality. 4) Taking responsibility for one's own destiny. 5) The ability to stand up against authority and question leadership. 6) The ability to find others who are like minded and make one's own family out of friends.

Horton in Horton hears a Who.
I see a lot of the things that others skip and I have the courage to speak up on behalf of different perspectives. Unless I get shut down by the arbiters of PC here on PC as happened recently. ![]() |

Cinderella... I have the potential to make my life great, but instead I just keep waiting for someone to rescue me and do it for me... that ***** could have ran away from home at any time.

I am Little Red Riding Hood! Not only do I tell the wolf Granny's address, I google it and give him a map. Then I give him a snack from my basket. And just as he is leaving I yell "Wait! You will need some makeup to really convince me you are Granny."
You get the picture... ![]() Great Thread

Probably Peter Pan because I wish I never had to grow up and I like Neverland. (I love the music and the play too)
It's not a fairy tale but also Eeyore (how do you spell that anyway?) from Winnie-the-Pooh. He's always negative and pessimistic. ![]() |
