I was supposed to see T today and she was running 30 minutes over with her previous client. I had to leave to get back to work. She hasn't even called or anything. I feel forgotten.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I've been in a similar situation. Make sure you process it at your next session because it really does hurt.

I'm really sorry you experienced this. It's not really acceptable from a T. Five or ten minutes is forgivable...but 30? It's not as if she can say she lost track of time. Even if she was dealing with a crisis situation it's not fair to leave you waiting for so long and especially not to ring or leave some sort of message afterwards. It's just really, really bad. I hope you feel satisifed enough with her explanation to trust her again.

If it was a crisis with another person I would understand 100%. But she still owes you an explanation for what happened.

I was about to say those words.

a few times other clients in the hr before me have run way over, and each time both T1 and T2 would find a second when they could run out the door to let the next client know sort of what's up. it's professional, it's respectful (and I felt reassured that T would grant me that overtime too if things got bad & I really needed it).

Yr T needs to figure this out.
I am so sorry Doogie!!

I would absolutely positively 100% call *her* - if for no other reason that to ensure that you are not charged for the session.

Things come up, however, you are owed an explanation here, and you do not have to wait for it.

You get a say.

Look, I'm all about understanding that this may have been an emergency, whatever, but, this just seems kinda hinky that she couldn't have stuck her head out the door and said "let's reschedule" or something.

I mean, geez.

She emailed me. Evidently we got our wires crossed about the appt. We are going to talk on the phone sometime today, hopefully. I still feel hurt, though. Oh well.
