I snuck my iPod in thankfully and they have free wireless for guests. I am a guest, right?

They have me on the damn GERIATRIC side. Everyone here is old enough to be my great grand something and doped out of their poor minds. Only one group in 2 days I been here. They're feeding me wrong ( lactose intolerant) and acting surprised when i get sick, they told me casts were not allowed And they would remove it before letting me on unit (wtf?) and they took away my crutches and gave me a wheel chair that doesn't fit in bathroom or shower. Boooo them.

My t has been texting me while I'm in here. She doesn't feel like my t right now. I feel.. I dunno. I want her to help get me out bc coming was a mistake. (no don't think t will help she told me I'm acting and talking like a suicidal person so stay here).

I got 12 stitches tho for my si. At least it was treated.

I still want to hurt myself.

If you still want to hurt yourself, then you need to stay where you are. I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad. Keep us updated how you are.

P.S Did your T say if she was going to help you get out?

I'd imagine that being in the geriatric unit isn't what you had in mind when you went there....*sigh*....I hope that you are able to get some help while you are there. Just take a deep breath and try to allow the help in.....

Hi TC,
I've been wondering how you are.
I'm so sorry that it seems like the hospital actually isn't being very helpful! That's so stupid about not allowing casts in, did they actually remove your cast? I hope not! And yeah I agree with everyone else though, if you still want to hurt yourself then unfortunately this is where you need to be. Please keep us posted!

Tentative,
I'm so sorry you are having a difficult time. You would think that they would want to work with you so you can feel better. Thinking about you

Feeding you wrong and not allowing you to have a cast on your broken ankle. Sounds like the hospitals round here!

Hi TC,
This is just a thought. Could you have your primary care doctor talk to someone at the hospital about your dietary needs and the crutches? I would hope they wouldn't argue with a doctor's orders.
Have you even seen a therapist or psych there yet? I've never been hospitalized so don't really know what all goes on there. I would think you'd have lots of groups to go to, but you said you only had one. I just hope things get better.

WTF? No cast or crutches? What are you going to do? Beat on some old person who's in a drug induced coma while you hobble around?

I did not let them remove my cast and they did tAke my crutches but I have a wheelchair (even tho it's too big for my room). They're letting me out today once the Percocet they gave me wears off.

Maybe they take the casts off so clients can't smuggle anything in? They probably are planning to give you an orthesis?- it's the thing with straps, use for open injuries, anyway it's harder to hide stg inside.
I don't understand why can't you have a mobile and/or crutches though. And why are you at geriatrics? Was the psychiatric unit full? Also the diet is inexcusable.
However, given your thoughts I'd strongly recommend you to stay there. I was once hospitalized (psych unit) and the staff didn't take us seriously (were super nice but didn't treat us like equals more like babies)- so if I wanted stg to change (like my meds, diet...) I needed to tell my parents, they talked to my doctor and it happened. IDK why, it annoyed the heck out of me (when I wasn't doped out of my mind) but it worked. I HATE hospitals but sometimes there's no other choice. Sorry.

Hi TC,
So glad you get out today! I'm so sorry that that experience seems to have just been a really horrible waste of time. I hate the mental health system! I think it's pritty broken no matter what state you live in.

So, finally discharged today. Guess what my discharge paperwork says?

That I am being referred to treatment with AA for my substance abuse problems with alcohol and marijuana.

Um...what? I have no idea where they got that, I can only assume I've been mixed up with a another patient. I haven't drank alcohol in a very very long time, and my only cannabis use has been via oil for my foot to control pain so I don't use as many narcotic pain killers.

My blood panel shows nothing in my system except opiates (pain killers).

But they refused to fix it.

I am exceedingly angry. I am furious. I am seething. They can't send that **** to my insurance, it's all complete ********. And my ****ing foot hurts and I still feel like cutting.

I don't know what stg is, but my ankle is broken badly enough that I have 7 screws in it. No one is compromising my ankle health by prematurely removing my cast. That is my surgeons purview and no one else's. I care not for any excuses. They're all ******** and not in my best interest. If they wanted to check inside, there's this thing called an x-ray. Fabulous for seeing inside of things.

They said geriatrics bc those patients are calmer and less chance of a freak out and my foot being injured by out of control patient.
