I had a horrendous week last week and ended up giving in to making a crisis call and extra appt. Something I fight against constantly. I saw T in his other office which was much nicer. I don't know what happened, if it was the office or him, but he was SO "on top of everything". He went thru all my issues without a net (no notes or file). Freaked me out how clearly he remembered big issues and how much he does actually know me. Quite the difference from our awkward weekly sessions (which he is always late for) where he seldom remembers emails or what we spoke about the week prior. Sometime he doesn't even remember when I missed a week.

So where the hell did this Super T come from, and how can I keep him? I noticed he can do this parlor trick whenever I am ready to quit therapy.

Maybe the general memory problem thing is some sort of weird therapisty technique? To check in with you to see if those issues are still bothering you? Hmmm. Can you ask about that? Seems weird to me too.

Can you tell him that you appreciated Super T's appearance? Positive reinforcement of what you want works.

I did tell him it was good. The session was on Friday and Fri. night I texted him and told him I felt much better. My regular appt is tomorrow and I wonder how that will go...if it will be a mindless frustrating session or not. I kind of dread it because the panic I was feeling about T and meds not helping has toned way down for the weekend, and I really need to feel like I am moving forward and not stagnant.

If he isn't on top of his game tomorrow can you mention this to him and ask for the super T?

I've really been thinking about this and wondering if it's the office/day that makes him better. I think I saw Super T about 6 mos ago and it was in that office. Maybe it's a calmer environment and less clients or something. It sure is a nicer office, bigger, brighter, more comfy and modern. The office I usually see him in is tiny with old rockers that are small and uncomfortable.

Hmmmm....BRAINSTORM....big lightbulb...maybe I am much calmer and open in that office, so we connect better????
