My mom died early last week. I went from crying nearly incessantly through Monday to feeling almost completely numb today. It feels really bizarre, but it's better than the crying. Frankly, right now I don't care about anything.

I'm glad I see T tomorrow.

I am sorry about your loss. Losing a mother is a huge deal. Mine died suddenly a few years ago and I was numb for months after. Sometimes I would even forget she was dead and dial up and be surprised when my dad answered the phone. I curled up in bed for over a month after her death and did nothing really but walk the dog and go back to bed. My partner was out of the country for her job and I quit answering the phone to friends.
The point of that is to tell you I believe losing a parent is very tough and takes a long time to grieve. It may (based on my experience) come and go in waves for a long time. I hope you can be gentle with yourself and if possible not stress over how long it takes.
Thanks for this!

I'm glad you see your T tomorrow too. I hope he/she is able to offer a kind listening ear and some comfort that, at the very least, your grieving process is honored and important.
Thanks for this!

T will help tomorrow. He's the one person I feel safe crying in front of. Or not crying. He never judges my reactions.
