As the layers are peeled back so the old feelings are exposed. My step mother was a sadistic pyschotic narcissist. I survived her attacks by maintaining I didn't care, they didn't effect me. Now I know she scared me, only now do feel that fear. Taken all these yrs of therapy to get to this point.

I hear that. I lived in the inner city of detroit, between two projects in Brooklyn, jumped out of an airplane, did all kindsa crazy stuff, supposably fearless - because what is scarier than a mother who threatens to kill you? Still, to admit that fear is a little surreal, really hard, but it explains a lot, doesn't it?

yes it does, it also helps me understand why I react to hurt instead of admit to it.
