I had my first session with a new t since my old t left the new t says that before we start anything we have to work on transtioning i know what transition means but as far as therapy goes what does it entail have any of you gone through this

transition generally means that your new T will have to get up to speed on your issues and history, and you will have to get up to speed on her style of therapy. It's a "getting to know you" time.

The first few sessions new T and I talked about where I was with my prior therapist. We also talked about what I'd covered with T1 and how sad I was to leave. Last time we talked about my family and he made a little chart with names. He's still learning the basics about me.

When I started seeing my current T, we spent a lot of time talking about how much I missed my previous T. I really had to work through the grief of that before we could get into any deep work ourselves.
