About having sessions on Thursdays is knowing that if I email T my reactions to our session, I won't get a reply back until Monday morning at the earliest. My T usually only replies to emails in the mornings, and she doesn't work on Fri/Sat/Sun...so she doesn't reply to emails sent on Thursday afternoons until Monday. I'm used to it, and it's not like her emails typically have much substance anyway. However, when I've sent her an email processing a rough session, it would be really nice to get some encouragement or feedback the next day rather than having to wait 4 days.

I love being able to email T - it has been a huge help to me in trusting T and building our relationship. I understand and am okay with the limitations of email. I don't expect detailed responses to my sometimes novel length emails. I understand that the things I email usually need to be talked about in session, and I'm good with that. T is so very good about giving me just the response I need, with just a few words. Email works for us. T encourages me to send her an email on Thursdays, once I've had time to process a session. I just really hate having to wait for that reply, sometimes. Ah well - I've got a busy weekend ahead, I just have to get through today first.

Ask your T if she/he would be willing to at least let you know that they got your text or e mail. I had to do that with my T because I hate being ignored and it has very helpful.

I would spend the weekend working on the email, get it just right, and not send it until Sunday night? That way you'd get an answer right away. There can be so much that changes with a bit of time thinking about it?

you can also do a read receipt...if you have certain email programs. I find that most people don't mind checking the OK.
