I had a dream the other night - I was going into my session with my T and she answered the door in a two piece bathing suit! First of all, what could this dream possibly mean and should I share it with my T?

Lol, sorry for laughing Butterflies.. I just had a mental picture of my T in her bikini, not the young T my old one....YUCKKKKK.

Sometimes dreams are just random, there isn't necessarily any meaning to them. If I had to play armchair dream interpreter, I'd say maybe the dream represents that your T has been surprising you in some way during your sessions/

My T says dreams are about the feelings not details... Maybe you are getting more comfortable with her , or want her to be vulnerable with you?

Well, I have had romantic feelings for her in the past...
This past week in my sessions, I was more open and vulnerable about some things than I had ever been, so maybe this was reflected in my dream?

That sounds right, by you being vulnerable maybe you wanted her to be too...hence bikini. I'd talk about it if you feel comfortable, I think dreams are very revealing.

I think there's value in sharing dreams with T, whether they seem important or not. Some of mine are really significant and others just sort of random. And sometimes a theme will start running through them and that's lead to some interesting revelations. And sometimes my dreams are pretty funny, so it's nice to have those moments with T. Helps with building the r/s. Your T might have some thoughts about yours - why not share with her?

What harm can it do? It will probably put a smile on her face, hopefully anyway. I bring up dreams too because I believe they are relevant, I have a recurring dream that we tried to figure out but never got to the route of it.

I do a lot of dream work in therapy so I share all of my dreams no matter how weird or goofy they sound. My t is Jungian and so everything we see in our dreams is symbolic. It's so fascinating talking over what different things mean as far as the symbols go. She has a bunch of books on dream symbols and sometimes we're both digging through them trying to figure out some symbol or other. So all that was to say go for it, why not share it with your t? Dream work is way cool.
